The updated Mend sign-in page delivers a modern, streamlined experience that makes signing in faster and more secure—while keeping all existing features like Single Sign-On (SSO), password reset, and secure authentication.
This guide walks you through how to log in, reset your password, and get support.
What’s Improved

- Simple, two-step login
- Separate sign in experiences for password users and SSO users

- New on-screen emergency guidance message
Sign In with a Password
If your organization does not use SSO, follow these steps to sign in with your Mend password.
- Go to https://portal.mendfamily.com/.
-
Enter your email address and click Continue.
- If your organization does not use SSO, the password field will appear automatically.
-
(Optional) Check “Remember my email” if you’d like Mend to save your email for next time.
- This feature relies on browser cookies. If you clear your cache, your saved email will be removed.
- Enter your password and click Sign In.
-
If you belong to only one organization, you’ll be taken directly to your Mend dashboard.
- If you belong to multiple organizations, you’ll be prompted to select one before continuing.
Sign In with Single Sign-On (SSO)
If your organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO), you can sign in to Mend using the same credentials you use for your organization’s systems (e.g., Microsoft, Google, or Okta)
- Go to https://portal.mendfamily.com/.
- Enter your work or organization email address and click Continue.
-
(Optional) Check “Remember my email” if you’d like Mend to save your email for next time.
- This feature relies on browser cookies. If you clear your cache, your saved email will be removed.
-
After you enter your organization email, Mend automatically detects your SSO provider and displays the correct Sign in with SSO option. If your organization uses Microsoft or Okta for Single Sign-On, you may see a provider-specific button such as Sign in with Microsoft or Sign in with Okta. If you’d like one of these buttons to appear for your organization, please have an admin contact our team at implementations@mend.com for setup assistance.
- This button may appear with a different SSO name or icon, but will remain in the same place as the image below
- Click the “Sign In With [SSO]” button.
- Complete the sign-in process using your organization’s secure login system.
- Once authenticated, you’ll be redirected back to Mend and automatically signed in.
- If you belong to more than one Mend organization, you'll select the appropriate one when prompted.
This new flow makes it clear when SSO is available and prevents confusion that can occur when being redirected away from Mend without context.
Resetting Your Password
If you’ve forgotten your password or want to create a new one, you can now start the process right from the login page — just note that the option appears after you enter your email address.
- Go to https://portal.mendfamily.com/.
- Enter your valid email address and click Continue.
- Once your email is verified, you’ll see the “Forgot Password?” link appear.
- Click Forgot Password to begin the reset process.
Confirm your account email, then click Send password reset and Mend will send a secure reset link to your email (or mobile number, if listed on your Mend account).
-
Navigate to your email or text, and click the link to open the password reset page.
-
Enter:
Your email address
Your date of birth (for verification)
Your new password (entered twice)
Click Reset Password.
This update does not change how password resets work — only when the option becomes available. You’ll still receive a secure link and complete the reset in the same way as before.
Once your password is successfully reset, you’ll be automatically logged in, removing the need to re-enter credentials.
Password Requirements and Validation
When creating or resetting your password, it must meet the following requirements:
At least 12 characters
Contains at least one number
Contains at least one special character (e.g., !, @, #, $, etc.)
Contains one uppercase character
Contains one lowercase character
As you type your new password, the Mend login page will show a real-time checklist of these requirements. Each rule updates automatically with a green check mark when it’s met or a red “x” when it’s not. This helps you easily confirm that your password meets all the security criteria before submitting.
Emergency Contact Feature
The new login page now displays a clear reminder that Mend is for non-emergency care only.
When signing in, you’ll see this message on the screen:
“Mend is for non-emergencies only. Call 911 for emergencies, or 988 for mental health help.”
This ensures users are directed to the proper channels for urgent or crisis situations.
